Project Details<\/p>\n

Idea:<\/strong> To deliver a “live” website that can be visited online and in real life.<\/p>\n

Solution:<\/strong> Live streaming of mural paintings 24\/7 from Venice Beach, California and Todos Santos, Puerto Escondido and Mazatlan (Mexico). Every page on the website was represented by a live-streamed image from one of the walls. Whenever a user clicked on the menu painted on the wall, the user was sent to other pages, often being another live video feed.<\/p>\n

What Rackfish did<\/strong> Rackfish had a very active role from the beginning, doing a technical study of the feasibility of the project, technical design, and technical implementation. We also did location scouting, campaign hosting, video conversion and streaming to the focus market on the west coast of the USA. Our experience and track record in live video and campaign management were the base for our role in this project.<\/p>\n

Technical solution<\/strong> We set up weather- and vandal proof network HD cameras in front of the painted walls. Every location had a dedicated ADSL connection and a POE injector that fed power to the camera. Both protected by a dedicated UPS for power surges and power outages. Through a weather-proof network cable, the camera received power and sent data back to our server. Rackfish delivered and managed a high redundancy server solution in Atlanta, GA. that received the video streams from the cameras, converted the video stream to RTMP for Flash streaming and did the streaming directly to the Pacifico website, developed by Unit9.<\/p>\n

Technologies used:<\/strong> Doubled virtual campaign servers. Sitestorage RTSP-RTMP conversion, Sitestorage Streaming, HD network cameras with RTSP-streams.<\/p>\n
