with a good price picture thanks to shared resources.<\/li>\n<li>We also have the benefits of dedicated servers, as we do not overbook and use the market&#8217;s best virtualization, VMware.<\/li>\n<li>You avoid the disadvantages of dedicated servers thanks to centralized storage and virtualization that automates, among other things, hardware errors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Performance<\/h3>\n<p>When you move to Rackfish, we often see that the performance gets a boost even with lesser hardware. This is because you get more performance on networks, processor, storage and memory without overbooking and with reserved resources.<\/p>\n<h3>Safety<\/h3>\n<div>With a High-Availability server, you don&#8217;t have to have servers just to make sure you&#8217;re up and running, as we reserved the capacity for an &#8220;automatic failover&#8221;. It is not uncommon for us to load balance anyway for performance or easier upgrades.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<h3>Network<\/h3>\n<div>All dedicated virtual servers have redundant gigabit connectivity (the host servers have redundant 10 Gbe). If large amounts of traffic are important to you, our IaaS servers are looking really interesting, where you have free traffic on the capacity of the network card.<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1362\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Standard server<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1362\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1362\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><h3>The standard server<\/h3><p>Rackfish standard server run advanced web sites, media servers for video, administrative applications, yes all sorts of things. It is a very good server to start with and it&#8217;s easy to buy add-ons for what you need more of (memory, storage, vcpu, etc). We have lots of standard servers in operation and that&#8217;s often the one we start with, the name says it all!<\/p><h3>Configuration<\/h3><div>A standard server has 1 CPU. Powerful and reliable in all weathers (no neighbors will be able to steal cpu cycles). Easy to expand, but it&#8217;s pretty unusual. Can be saved on processor licenses for software with a more powerful processor. 2 GB of memory is also sufficient in most cases. Some operating systems and especially when running databases or other applications, it is a good idea to expand it a little, but it is fast to do when you need it.<br \/><br \/>You get 50 GB of storage on our storage network, in addition, we reserve double the amount so that you can get up to double the usage in the form of stored snapshots, depending on how much data changes.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>The network is super fast and optimized &#8211; 1000 GB of traffic is included, and the connection is 1000Mb\/s. The performance and capacity are a little lower, perfect for simpler websites you want to run on a small server. The expansion possibilities are endless, when you need it you can just switch up to a standard server and get more of everything right away!<\/p><h3>Configuration<\/h3><div>A Basic server has 1 vCPU, with little reduced capacity for a lower price. Note that it is still Rackfish &#8211; so the capacity is retained in all conditions. Same with memory 1GB of memory that is reserved. The storage path includes 10 GB on our storage network, in addition, we reserve 10 GB for snapshots (depends on usage patterns).<\/div><div>The network is super fast and optimized &#8211; 333GB of traffic is included, and the connection is 1000Mb\/s. The most common customer is developers who want someone to work with who manages the operation and configuration in order to focus on the development itself.<\/p><p>All work is included in business hours and includes optimization, updates, troubleshooting, installation, configuration.<\/p><p>Some months you don&#8217;t use anything, other months lots &#8211; there&#8217;s some sort of limit on what we can deliver &#8211; if the work should continue over 50 hours a year (and server) then we probably need to discuss this, but so far it hasn&#8217;t been necessary.<\/p><p>It is nice for us to be able to work freely and do our best and it is nice for our customers not to have to think about whether or not to contact us.<\/p><p>Customers with Rackfish Care can also get their own channel in our Slack &#8211; now we&#8217;re talking really personal and efficient!<\/p><h3>SLA<\/h3><div>We offer SLA in three levels.\u00a0<\/div><div><ul><li>Basic SLA is included for all servers.\u00a0<\/li><li>SLA B provides 24\/7 monitoring with action and guaranteed 2-hour response time all hours of the day.\u00a0<\/li><li>SLA C is available for those who want a fixed cost and includes 2 emergency calls a month.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1365\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Add on services<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1365\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1365\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><h3>Customize your server<\/h3><p>The range of additional services is very large. Specifically for Virtual Servers, however, please note:<\/p><h3>Capacity<\/h3><p>vCPU with very good performance can be added. Memory as well, sold per GB, with or without High Availability. Storage on our storage network is sold per 50GB and includes snapshots, object storage (S3) sold in bulk or measured. <\/p><p>We can also help with load balancing, optimization and load testing.<\/p><h3>Safety<\/h3><p>In addition to a good basic quality in all details, we offer services such as &#8220;high availability&#8221; where the cluster is ready to handle hardware failures automatically. Fault Tolerance &#8211; a machine is kept as the exact copy of the main server and is ready to take over within a second. We can replicate data (or machines) between data centers.<\/p><h3>Licenses<\/h3><p>Windows and SQL Server are bestsellers. Wowza and several other video server software as well. Each power cord is backed by different sets of batteries and diesels. There is overcapacity so that a diesel can break. On both sides. Behind the diesels there are two different switchgears in the mains. Or simply put: we have never been powerless!<\/p><h4>Cooling system: N+1<\/h4><p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/N%2B1_redundancy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">N+1<\/a> means that the cooling system consists of (N) number of components to cool the entire hall and there is always at least one (+1) stand-alone component that takes over in the event of a fault.<\/p><p>Routines, security and more are top notch with 24\/7 security, lock-in control, video surveillance, and so on. <\/p><h3>Uppsala<\/h3><p>This hall is a little more normal but does not have the highest requirements for accessibility. Since we use this as a backup hall for special purposes (such as storing backups far away from the main operation), that is excellent enough. It is still guarded by security guards 24\/7 and we have both battery and diesel backup on the power supply.
